Safari Itinerary

Day One

Dar es Salaam – Selous Game Reserve

Morning: Pick up from Dar Es Salaam city center and proceed to Selous Game Reserve with a picnic lunch 

Late afternoon: Boat safari along the mighty Rufiji River

Evening: Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp/ Zarafa Tented Camp.

During the boat safari you will encounter exotic wildlife such as hippos and crocodiles. Around 350 species of birds have also been recorded in the Selous game reserve. The Mombo woodlands and the birdlife supported by the Rufiji Swamplands provide a beautiful visual experience.

Days Two and Three

Game Viewing in Selous Game Reserve

You will have a full 2 day stay in the Selous Game Reserve. You will explore the reserve by a four wheel drive on the 3rd day. 

Dinner and overnight at Rufiji River Camp/ Zarafa Tented Camp. 

Day Four

Selous Game Reserve – Mikumi National Park

Morning: After an early breakfast, you will start with morning walking safari.

Afternoon: Later proceed to the Mikumi National Park with a packed picnic lunch.

Evening: Dinner and overnight stay at Vuma Hills Tented Camp/ Tan Swiss Lodge/ TANAPA Bandas.

The journey to Mikumi is both an amazing and a wild experience. The drive will take you up into the Uluguru Mountains across rivers and past small local villages and farms. The drive can be tiring but possibly the most rewarding and adventurous one among the Tanzanian Tourist Circuits

Day Five

Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

Morning: After breakfast, you will have a full day game drive in the park with a packed picnic lunch.

Evening: Dinner and overnight stay at Vuma Hills Tented Camp/ Tan Swiss Lodge/ TANAPA Bandas.

Mikumi is a well-known national park in Tanzania. It has a coverage of 3,230 kilometers. The park is well known for its population of elephants, giraffes, buffalos, wildebeests, and its famous predators the tree climbing lions. There are more than 300 species recorded in the park (good news for bird watchers), unique bird species include marabou stork, lilac breasted roller and many more.

Day Six

Mikumi National Park – Dar es Salaam

After breakfast, proceed to DSM with picnic lunch
